Victory Park in Ufa

d. Ufa, Komarova Street, 5/1

Description:

Victory Park is located in a picturesque place - on a small hill, which is known as Dezhnevskaya mountain. In the southern part, the park comes close to the Lyalya-Tulpan mosque, and in the north - to the Neftyanik stadium. The main attraction of the park is the memorial complex installed here in 1985 in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The 25-meter obelisk rises above the steep descent to the White River. It is made of red granite and consists of two sculptural portraits - Hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Matrosov and Minnigali Gubaidullin, who repeated the feat. The monument was created by a whole team, which included sculptors Academician L. E. Kerbel and N. S. Lyubimov, as well as architect G. G. Lebedev. The square in front of the monument is lined with flat concrete slabs, the total number of which exceeds 8 thousand. The monument rests on a granite pedestal. The total area of the memorial complex, which includes directly the monument, museum, observation platforms, picturesque flowerbeds and lawns, is more than two hectares.

Nowadays, Victory Park is one of the main places for festive events and folk festivals. Traditionally, newlyweds come here, graduates gather here for the "last call" and, of course, no excursion around the city will not ignore the Victory Park.
