S. T. Aksakov Garden of Culture and Rest in Ufa
Description:
The name of the writer S.T. Aksakov is closely related to Ufa. At the end of the XVIII century, his parents purchased a manor with several buildings and a garden. The area in which the estate was located in those years was called the Dove Sloboda. It was here, in the new family house, in 1791, the future famous writer Sergei Timofeevich Aksakov was born. To this day, this house has not survived - it burned down in 1821, and the family a few years earlier sold it and moved to the house of his grandfather - now there is a museum named after S.T. Aksakov.
In 1888, the plot with the garden was transferred to the disposal of merchant V.I. Vidineyev, who decided to set up a park on this site. Soon the park with amusement rides, a maze of miracles, a dance floor and a restaurant became popular and became a favorite place for recreation with the public. Here Vidineyev built the famous Summer Theatre, which operated for almost a hundred years.
After the revolution, Vidineyevsky Garden received a new name and began to bear the name of A.V. Lunacharsky. However, in 1989 it was decided to give the garden the name of S.T. Aksakov. At the same time, it was recognized as a cultural monument. Nowadays, the Aksakov Garden is a popular venue for entertainment and sports events. In winter, a skating rink is open here, and in summer visitors are pleased with thick greenery and beautiful swans swimming on the lake.
