Description:
The famous mosque-madrasah "Lyalya-Tulpan" with its slender minarets is visible from afar. This is one of the most significant religious buildings of Ufa. The building of the mosque looks light, bright and is the pride of the residents of Bashkortostan. The construction of the mosque lasted about nine years - began in 1989 and was combined with celebrations in honor of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by a number of peoples of the Urals and the Volga region.
After some break, construction was resumed in the mid-90s. More than two hundred Bashkir and Turkish builders worked on the construction of the mosque. The work did not stop even in the winter, so the Lyalya-Tulpan Mosque opened on schedule. The building has three floors: on the first there is a sports and gym, a bath, a sauna and various economic premises on the second - training rooms of the madrasah, and on the third - a prayer hall. There are five hundred believers sitting shoulder to shoulder in the mosque. This is a sign indicated in the Quran, so that evil spirits do not pass between those who pray.
You can enter the prayer hall through two separate entrances - the male passage leads to the lower part, and the female one to the upper, to the balcony. The mosque is based on a 6-meter reinforced concrete foundation, on which the bases of minarets are fixed. Each of them is formed of reinforced concrete rings and has a height of 33 meters. The tops of the minarets symbolize the buds of tulips - hence the name of the mosque.
