Nikolsky Station Temple

ooh Station, 39A, Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan 450,000, Russian Federation

Description:

Station St. Nicholas Church is mentioned in written documents at the end of the XIX century. Preserved in the essay “Ufa diocese” published in 1899, the record states that the St. Nicholas Church at the Ufa railway station was built in 1897 on the initiative of employees of the Samaro-Zlatoust railway. The construction of the church was timed to coincide with the engagement of the Imperial couple. Initially, the temple was wooden, but soon it was rebuilt from brick.

In 1923, St. Nicholas Church was among the first in the list of churches to be closed. The building, which appears to the eyes of residents and visitors of the city today, is located on the site of a brick church, but it was built in 1951. Now the church occupies the premises that formerly belonged to the club, in which the cinema hall was located. Unfortunately, none of the church utensils of the XIX - early XX centuries have been preserved to this day.
