Monument to Lenin
Description:
In Lenin Square there is a monument to Lenin, the history of which goes back to the 30s of the twentieth century and continues to this day. This is the only monument to the leader of peoples, installed already in the XXI century.
The very first monument to Lenin in Ufa appeared in 1924 - on it the leader was depicted in full growth. After some time, this sculpture was replaced by another composition - sitting Lenin and Stalin. The figure of Stalin was subsequently removed and Lenin remained in the square, thoughtfully bowing his head and holding a book in his hands. In the 1980s, the monument came into disrepair and was sent for restoration, and a column crowned with a marble globe remained in the square.
For almost two decades, the fate of the monument remained in question, but in 2011, the city authorities listened to the initiative group and decided to return the monument to its former place. This was done with sponsorship funds - the monument was updated and re-installed in October 2011.
