Monument to Zagir Ismagilov

ooh Lenina, 3-5, Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan, 450,000, Russian Federation

Description:

In the Theatre Square, located next to the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre, there is a monument to the famous Ufa composer Zagir Ismagilov. This place is symbolic, because just a few meters from the monument is the State Academy of Arts, the founder and first rector of which was Ismagilov.

The grand opening of the monument took place in October 2008 and was timed to the 40th anniversary of the Academy. Thus, the residents of the city decided to perpetuate the memory of the famous countryman.

The sculpture is a composer sitting on a chair with a cane smoke in his hand. Obviously, the artist was trying to portray him in a moment of creative inspiration. The monument is cast in bronze, surrounded by a metal fence, and on the pedestal is engraved the inscription in Russian and Bashkir languages: "Outstanding Bashkir composer Zagir Ismagilov".
