ooh Lenina, 5, Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan, 450,000, Russian Federation

Description:

The marten’s house is the so-called bronze sculpture dedicated to the marten, which is considered the official symbol of Ufa. The composition was created by sculptor Khalit Galiullin, the author of the famous "janitor". The opening of the monument took place on July 8, 2010 - on this day Russia celebrates the Day of Family, Love and Loyalty, and this is not by chance. If you look closely at the monument, it becomes clear that two martens live in the house - one of them runs along the tree branch, and the second looks out of the house.

The opening of the new monument was not only an event in the life of the city, but also a very symbolic act. The fact is that the marten, among other things, is considered the keeper of the hearth, and in Ufa there is a beautiful legend associated with this furry animal. It was this legend that the creators of the monument decided to tell, who chose a very original way for this.

Once upon a time there lived a beautiful girl in a village. And they decided to marry her unloved, despite the fact that she already had a fiancé. In revenge, the rejected villain turned her into a marten. But this story has a happy ending - the girl's beloved also turned into a marten and in animal form they lived happily ever after, and the villain was punished and soon died. The remaining funds from the villain began the construction of a new city - Ufa. With the opening of the monument, the newlyweds have a new tradition - to come here by wedding motorcade.
