Majit Gafuri Memorial House-Museum

The house was donated to Majit Gafuri in the summer of 1923 by the decision of the Bashkir Central Executive Committee in connection with the assignment of the title of People’s Poet of Bashkiria. He lived in this house for 11 years (1923-1934). On January 10, 1948, the grand opening of the Majit Gafuri Memorial House-Museum took place.

The museum currently has 7 rooms. In 4 rooms there is a documentary exposition telling about the life and work of the poet, and in the remaining 3 rooms the memorial atmosphere of the apartment of the poet and his family is restored. Genuine things recreate the atmosphere and time in which the classic lived, help to feel, understand his life and work. Priceless relics of the house-museum help to present Majit Gafuri not only as a poet, but also as a wonderful person - father, husband, friend. The museum funds contain more than 2,000 exhibits.
