Museum of contemporary art. Naila Latfullin
Republic of Bashkortostan, Ufa, Karl Marx Street, 32
About the company:
The Museum of Contemporary Art named after Nail Lutfullin was established as a museum, exhibition and research organization, the main task of which is the theoretical justification and concrete implementation of projects and programs in the field of contemporary art both in Bashkortostan and abroad. There is a permanent exhibition of paintings by Nail Latfullin, exhibitions and excursions are held. The museum was founded by members of TU Genghis Khan in 2002. In its creation (previously there was a workshop of Vasil Khannanov, and even earlier - a communal apartment) took part both public organizations of the city, and individual artists and students of the UUI. Art critic Ekaterina Suvorova: “The museum has an atmosphere of the underground of the late 80s – early 90s – the period of the last underground ...” The whole interior, starting with naked masonry, is simple and natural. Everything is made for Latfullin’s paintings: such a sense of harmony can cause a carefully thought out and inhabited home environment in conjunction with the image of the owner. According to Vasil Khannanov, who for four years was engaged in the “transformation” of the basement into an exhibition space, this was done, first of all, so that today’s youth had the opportunity to be educated on worthy examples, so that people could see Nail’s paintings always. Created five years ago by a group of artists "Genghis Khan" in memory of his untimely gone first leader Nail Latfullin. It was converted from a workshop by the public of Ufa, students and artists. First of all, the museum space itself is interesting, which is a room in the basement of Stalin’s five-story building. The atmosphere of the underground avant-garde of the 80s gave rise to the tradition of holding various cultural events here: concerts, public lectures, book presentations. In the large hall of the museum there is a permanent exhibition: the painting by Nail Latfullin, who is rightly considered the founder of avant-garde art in Ufa. In the second, much smaller hall of the museum you can buy publications dedicated to contemporary art of Ufa. It also periodically, but without a clear plan, hosts small exhibitions of contemporary artists. Admission is almost free. PS Place, of course, club format - attracts both nostalgic octostalgic and party youth. If you are lucky, you can listen to the historical and artistic commentary of the artists themselves. The working hours of the museum can be arbitrary.
