Buryat Republican Art Museum named after Ts.S.Sampilov

22.02.1944 the order No. 48 of the Committee for Arts under the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR of 02.02.1194 on the organization of an art museum in the city of Ulan-Ude was issued. The museum was founded 4.04.1944 by resolution No. 82 of the SNK BM ASSR. In November 1946 a permanent exhibition was opened. In July 1966, the Republican Art Museum was named after Ts.S. Sampilov, the founder of the Buryat fine arts (order of the Minister of Culture of the RSFSR No. 591 dated 26.07.1966). In 1973, the museum moved to a new building at 29 Kuibyshev Street.
