Buryat Nature Museum

The Nature Museum of Buryatia is one of the leading natural history museums of our country. The main purpose of the museum is to promote nature protection. A special flavor of the unique Trans-Baikal nature is shown by more than 2000 exhibits placed in the halls of the museum. The main place in the exposition of Hall 5 is occupied by the display of Lake Baikal - a unique aquatic ecosystem with a special regime of nature management, which took second place in the All-Russian competition "Seven Wonders of Russia".
Now the museum is not only a repository of valuable natural science collections, but also one of the centers of environmental education, education and promotion of environmental knowledge in the republic, and is also an attractive place for tourists and guests of the city and the republic.
