The tour will begin with the “V.I. Lenin Reserve”. Despite the name, there are no wild animals, but the architecture that was in Simbirsk in 1870, when perhaps the most famous resident of this city was born here - Vladimir Ulyanov (Lenin). During the tour, you will remember this name again. But our city is connected with other outstanding people: you will reach Goncharova Street, where you will find out why this most central street of the city, named after Lenin, is not named after him. You will find a sofa and slippers Oblomov and a monument to Goncharov, bypass the museum of this great Russian writer who was born in Simbirsk. In addition, you will see the building in the basement of which Yemelyan Pugachev was imprisoned and walk through the square named after another great Simbirian – historian Karamzin (and learn why his monument is a female sculpture).

The tour will continue in the part of the city that weaves the deep past and architecture of 1970: you will learn the most interesting historical facts of different periods, see interesting and iconic buildings. You will discover the history of the founding of the city and discover the historical center of the Sinbirsk fortress.

The Volga is another important “resident” of the city and it is impossible not to walk along its beautiful embankment. You will enjoy the beauty of this truly seascape, walk along the Venets, see the Local Lore and Art Museums, which are located in a building inseparably associated with Goncharov. You will also be able to take pictures of the most ridiculous Russian monument, the letter E. The path will continue to Lenin Square, where you will see its Memorial Center and a monument to the founder of the city Bogdan Khitrovo. And you will see the modernity of the city on the other side, learning a little about the current life of Ulyanovsk.
