The Manor of Language
Russia, Ulyanovsk region, Karsun district, village of Yazyavo
Description:
The estate is located in the Ulyanovsk region, in the Karsun district, within the modern village of Yazygovo. This is the territory of the former Simbirsk province of Russia. The estate is the family estate of the landlords of the Languages.
The main, 2-storey master's house of the Estate of Yazyavo was built of wood. In front of the facade of the building there is an elegant courtyard with a large, oval stall in the center, decorated with flowers, lilac and jasmine. It was 15 meters wide. After a fire in the 1920s, the estate was restored.
Since 1830, after studying in Dorpat, Nikolai Mikhailovich Zyazov, a famous Russian poet of the Romantic era, settled in his parental home. It was visited by A.S. Pushkin, V.P. Ivashev, D.V. Davydov, A.S. Khomyakov, so the Estate of Yazyavo was also called the “Refuge of Poetry”.
Since 1881, the owner of the manor is the merchant F.S. Stepanov, who carries out a number of changes and improvements here.
At present, the Estate of Yagovo is a significant historical and cultural place in the region. A functioning museum complex "Estate of the Languages" was created here, including a museum, a picturesque park with a pond and an elm alley. A partial restoration is being carried out at the estate.
