Historical-architectural complex "Simbirsk serif line"
Ulyanovsk region, Ulyanovsk, str. Leo Tolstoy, 43A
About the company:
In the middle of the seventeenth century, the border of the Moscow state was a veil that closed the country from the ruinous raids of nomads. For many hundreds of kilometers stretches the great Russian wall from Ukraine to the Urals. Impenetrable forest fells - "secs" - were replaced by moats and ramparts, reinforced by palisades and towers of logs. On the territory of the Ulyanovsk region, areas of defensive structures of the Simbirsk sectary line have been preserved. Part of this ancient defensive line of the Moscow state was discovered and examined by archaeologists in the area of Lenin and Tolstoy St. The plot was located in the courtyard of a residential building. This circumstance helped him to survive, and in 2000 the open-air museum "Simbirskaya Zasechnaya Line" was opened here.
