About the company:
Creativity of Arkady Alexandrovich Plastov (1893-1972) - People's Artist of the USSR, a full member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, laureate of the Stalin, Lenin Prizes and the State Prize of the RSFSR named after I.E. Repin - the pride and glory of Russian realistic art. All his life he was blood-bound with the Volga land, with the Simbirsk - Ulyanovsk region, with Prislonikha - his native village, where he drew inspiration and strength.
The history of the A.A. Plastov Heritage Center in Ulyanovsk began in 1986, when the A.A. Plastov Picture Gallery was opened. However, during the difficult period for the development of culture in the 1990s, the gallery ceased to exist. Since 2008, in connection with the order of the Government of the Ulyanovsk region, the Museum of A.A. Plastov has been created as a branch of the Ulyanovsk Art Museum on the site where the Plastov Gallery previously existed. In 2010, the A.A. Plastov Museum was opened.
The museum exhibits more than 50 authentic works of the great painter of the 1920s - early 1970s. Among them are such famous as “Village March”, “Fire in the field”, “March morning”, “Roman Appian road”. The exposition also includes personal belongings of A.A. Plastov. Of great value are Plastov’s early drawings, old photographs of the artist’s fellow villagers and objects of folk life from Prislonikha, donated by the villagers.
