Museum "Meteorological station of Simbirsk"

The museum was opened on September 2, 1998 in the house of A.P. Izyakov. Since January 1876, the first meteorological station in Simbirsk was located in this house, opened on the initiative of the doctor Pavel Mikhailovich Kozakevich. In the museum you can learn about meteorological observations in Russia, about the work of climate scientists, get acquainted with their works. The museum presents books on medicine and meteorology, instructions for weather stations to the XIX – XX centuries, as well as a unique collection of meteorological devices to the XIX century. Since 2001, the museum has a mini-planetarium, where visitors can admire the picture of the starry sky, make a trip through the solar system, the expanses of the Universe.
