Lake Valdai

Russia, Novgorod region, Valdai National Park, Valdai Upland is the location of Lake Valdai. The lake divides the island of Ryabinovy, located just in the center of the reservoir. 19.7 km2 is the area of the lake, 12 m is its average depth, although in some places it can reach 60 m. Starting from December and ending in May, this reservoir is completely covered with ice.

Lake Valdai is of glacial origin. This pond is famous for its sandy shores and beautiful beaches. Not far from it is the Lake Dinner, with which Valdai is connected by the channel "Kopka", the length of which reaches 150 m.

On the picturesque shore of Lake Valdai are the city of Valdai and the current Valdai Iversky Bogoroditsky Monastery.
