Description:

On June 3, 1983, the Council of Ministers of the USSR adopted a resolution "On perpetuating the memory of Academician Ivan Matveevich Vinogradov", in which a number of intra-Union events were developed, one of which was the creation of a scientific memorial house-museum in Velikie Luki in the homeland. The museum was opened on the day of the 95th anniversary of the birth of I.M. Vinogradov. The idea of creating a memorial museum arose from the great-faced people during the life of Academician Vinogradov. He himself took a lively personal part in the restoration of the parental house: he made a detailed description of the living rooms, appearance, and individual watercolor sketches. The only museum in the country dedicated to the classic of mathematical science, Academician I.M. Vinogradov, has absorbed the basic authentic materials of the scientist into its funds.
