Museum of Folk Wooden Architecture "Vitoslavlitsy"

"Vitoslavlitsy" - one of the most interesting museums of folk wooden architecture - is located in a picturesque area on the shore of Lake Myachino near the Yuriev Monastery.

It consists of four ethnographic zones, representing typical peasant estates with all farm buildings and architecture of small forms. In the monuments of wooden architecture there are expositions and exhibitions. The main principle of construction are “life complexes” with a static exposition close to the real situation, and dynamic, with a live display of the work of masters, games, holidays, wedding ceremonies.

The compositional core of the museum are three closely placed temples that recreate the ancient parish – the center of the rural district. They represent different types of religious buildings. The museum has a village forge, a stable with the exposition “Stables in early spring – late autumn”. Vehicles of the Novgorod province, humno with riga with seasonal exposures.

On the territory of the museum there are festivals of folklore and crafts, folk games, traditional wedding ceremonies, holidays of the national calendar, ethnographic programs.
