Temples of Dymkovskaya Sloboda
Description:
The temples of the Dymkovskaya Sloboda are located on the other bank of the Sukhona River, opposite the Cathedral Palace.
Dymkovo parish is one of the oldest in the city. It is believed that the churches of the Dymkovskaya Sloboda are monuments of the Ustyuzhan campaign to the Kulikovo field in 1380: the first temples were built and consecrated in 1383.
Currently, the architectural ensemble of Dymkov includes a five-domed temple of Dmitry Solunsky with a bell tower, a one-headed winter temple of Sergius of Radonezh, built in the first half of the XVIII century, as well as a gate, part of the corner tower and church fence. All monuments are available only for external inspection.
