The Ilyinskaya church was originally built in stone in 1772, in 1803 it was overhauled in the style of early classicism with baroque features. In Verea, the Ilyinsk Church is very revered and loved. The first mention of the church land of Elijah the Prophet on the Posad of Verea is found in literary sources in 7133 (1625 AD).
