It was founded in the late 19th century as a country village, in 1902 the name Visible was adopted.
Modern urban development is associated with the growth of the village of the coke and gas plant (launched in 1951), which received in 1949 the status of a working village and the name Vidnoye.
From these settlements in 1965 formed the city of Vidnoye (included country village Ratorguevo).
