The Tree of Sorrow monument
Description:
The Tree of Sorrow is a monument to the victims of the terrorist act that occurred on September 1, 2004 in North Ossetia, in Beslan. It was installed in August 2005 at the memorial cemetery of the city. The bronze composition is a tree trunk formed by four female figures. The crown of the tree is formed by the outstretched hands of women who hold angels symbolizing the dead children. The height of the monument is about 9 meters. Performed by sculptors Alan Kornayev and Zaurbek Dzanagov.
