The village of Bogolyubovo is located 9 km from the center of Vladimir and has entered our history as the residence of the first independent Vladimir Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky. Here he built the "City of Stones named after Godly" with the palace of the prince and the magnificent Christmas Cathedral. The construction of the city was consecrated by religious miracles and it was here that Prince Andrew was killed by conspirators. After the death of Prince Andrew, one of the oldest Russian monasteries was founded here, which has a centuries-old history and is a place of pilgrimage for believers and a unique tourist attraction. The magnificent monastic buildings and the remains of the prince’s palace create a unique aura of peace and a sense of belonging to the great Russian history. Bogolyub bay meadow is a unique natural phenomenon, 289 species of plants grow here, four of which are listed in the Red Book of the Vladimir region.
