Sudogda-town and Muromtsevo estate
Description:
Traveling from Vladimir to Murom, or in the opposite direction, you should definitely look into the secluded corner of Vladimir’s land, in Sudogda. The quiet and well-groomed town is famous for its merchant history, original traditions, bakery hospitality.
Literally three kilometers from Sudogda, in the village of Muromtsevo, there is a palace and park ensemble of the manor of a timber manufacturer, connoisseur of scientific achievements and art, a philanthropist, Count Vladimir Semenovich Khrapovitsky, Colonel of the Life Guard of His Majesty's regiment and leader of the Vladimir nobility.
The castle of the estate, a hunting lodge, horse and livestock yards, a summer theater, a boat pavilion, a pier on a pond are silent witnesses to the former grandeur and luxury of the Russian nobility.
The surroundings of Sudogda are paradise corners of nature with centuries-old pines and birch groves. Among them, the Dukinsky quarries are sheltered, where the Venus Bashmachok orchid smells of spring flowering (the species is listed in the Red Book), and the famous K.F. Thurmer Trail is an example of a scientific and practical approach to the use of natural riches and their multiplication.
