Pushkin Park in the city of Vladimir
d. Vladimir, st. Large Moscow, 56
Description:
The park, located in the ancient part of Vladimir, received the name of Pushkin in 1899, when the city hosted a celebration in honor of the centenary of the poet’s birth. Twice an attempt was made to install a bust of Pushkin in the park, but both monuments were unsuccessful and were demolished.
Residents and guests of the city fell in love with the park primarily for the observation deck, which offers a stunning view of the old slope of Vladimir and the unreachable distance behind the Klyazma River.
Near the entrance to the park there is a monument to Andrei Rublev, most of the ingenious frescoes of which are stored in the Vladimir Assumption Cathedral. The second monument of the park was a monument to the baptists of the Vladimir land. Installed in 2007, the monument depicts Vladimir the Red Sun on horseback and St. Fyodor beside him. The park is always quiet and calm, which has a leisurely walk among linden and birches.
