Bogolyubovo is a suburb of Vladimir and one of its brightest attractions.

The Church of the Intercession on Nerli was built in 1165 and is dedicated to the holiday - the Protection of the Mother of God.

Located on the banks of the Nerl. In spring, when the river waters rise, the building is captured by the river. This was taken into account by the builders.

The hill for construction was fortified by a complex foundation and covered with white stone slabs.

Dormition Cathedral

The Golden Gate

They were built in white stone in 1158-1164. They played the role of the main battle and travel tower of the fortress. In total, there were 5 gates, only one has reached our times - the Golden ones. At the end of the XVIII century. in connection with the implementation of a new regular planning of the city, the ramparts adjacent to the walls of the Golden Gate were torn down. This weakened the design of the gate supports.

To strengthen the gate at the corners were attached buttresses, enclosed in round towers. At the same time, the arches of the gates were moved from the old stone, and a new church of brick was built on them. In this form, the Golden Gate has reached the present time, retaining only its ancient foundation - two powerful white-stone walls. Now in the gate there is a museum of military valor, diorama "Storm of Vladimir by the army of Batu Khan on February 7, 1238."
