Staraya Street is one of the oldest in Suzdal and until the end of the XVIII century was part of the central street of the city. At the beginning of the XX century it was called Old Vladimir. Now this street is known to many as the location for the filming of episodes of the film “The Marriage of Balzaminov”, it is here that Balzaminov’s house is located, in which a small official Mikhail Balzaminov and his mother dream of a marriage of convenience.

Next, our way will go to the Shopping Rows, where we will stop and admire the delightful views of Suzdal from one of several observation decks, as well as see how rich the local shops are.

We will also see the building of the oldest inn of Suzdal, now there is a cozy cafe.

The famous Suzdal Kremlin is traditionally located on the Kremlin Street, on the tower of which unusual clocks are thoroughly located. Their dial is similar to the chimes of the Moscow Kremlin, but instead of numbers it depicts the letters of the Cyrillic alphabet. We will visit the Mother of God-Christmas Cathedral, which houses the most valuable monuments of decorative and applied art and ancient Russian painting of the XIII-XVII centuries: The Golden Gate of the Cathedral of the early XIII century with gospel stories on black copper plates, the Royal Gate, lanterns, crosses and icons from the iconostasis of the Cathedral of the XVII century. Particularly distinguished is the large water-holy bowl of the XIX century in the form of a samovar with four cranes. These exhibits testify to the rich cultural traditions of the Suzdal land and the city itself as a significant center of Orthodoxy and Russian national culture.

When visiting the Kremlin, we learn the history of Suzdal from ancient times to the beginning of the XX century: flowering in the XII-XIII centuries, the Mongol invasion, the formation of the principality, ruin in the Time of Troubles, economic growth in the XVII-XVIII centuries, turning into a county city in the XIX century. Special attention is paid to the development of monasteries and the formation of a unique architectural ensemble. Numerous authentic exhibits recreate the appearance of the city and acquaint with the spiritual life, occupations and life of citizens in different eras.

Next, we will walk along the bridge over Kamenka and continue a sightseeing tour of Suzdal by bus to one of the most significant objects - Spaso-Eufimievo Monastery. It is located on the outskirts of Suzdal, on the left, high bank of the Kamenka River. It reflects the whole complicated history of our state. He makes an incredibly strong impression, with his powerful appearance.

A walk around Vladimir will begin from the Golden Gate - a monument of ancient Russian architecture and the most famous military-defensive structure of the 12th century. They were built by order of Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky. It was during this period that the city of Vladimir flourished and many civil, religious and defensive structures were built. The monument is included in the UNESCO Heritage List (currently under reconstruction).

Further, our route will pass along the original Georgievskaya Street, before it was the heart of the New City, here in the XII century was the courtyard of Prince Yuri Dolgoruky.
