About the company:

History of the Vladivostok Circus more than 100 years. For the first time, residents of Vladivostok saw a circus performance in 1885 in the Lamberger circus, located on Svetlanskaya Street in the Club Ravine (now the territory of the Sailor’s Club). Since then, circuses of different orientations have been opened in Vladivostok in turn. Their total number reaches ten. Both Russian and foreign troupes performed in circuses. The success of the circus in the city is evidenced by the fact that, while in Vladivostok in May 1891, Tsarevich Nikolai, the heir to the royal crown, awarded 100 rubles to the circus. On December 31, 1973, residents of Vladivostok and Primorsky Krai received a wonderful gift – a new circus building on Svetlanskaya. The authors of the project were Solomeya Maksimovna Gelfer and Georgy Vasilyevich Napreenko, the chief designer was Vladimir Alekseevich Shemyakin. We will always be grateful to them and other specialists of the Moscow Giproteater Institute for the creation of this unique structure. The circus was built taking into account the complex local relief, which helped the architects to create an original, unique in shape circus building. On the first floor there is a lobby with two wardrobes, at the bottom, on Svetlanskaya, a cash register hall. On the second floor there is a steam-ket hall with a winter garden and buffets. The auditorium was designed for 2400 seats, equipped with modern lighting equipment and a complex acoustic system, a film installation for the demonstration of large-format films. Communication lines on the circus building have a total length of 75 kilometers, and light and power cables - 104 km. The arena can be transformed into a pop platform with a size of 350 square meters – this is more than the stage of the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, where pop and dance groups can perform. For four-legged artists there are stables, rooms for predators, an elephant, a shower and a kitchen for cooking animals. The first director of the circus was Burenko A.M., currently the director of the circus is A.O. Turkalov. On December 31, 2003, the circus celebrated its 30th anniversary with the Tigers program under the leadership of Honored Artist of Russia Nikolai Pavlenko.
