Russky Island is one of the most combat-ready frontiers of Primorye, whose coastal forts and batteries for several decades made it inaccessible to curious visitors from the mainland. Since 1898, the island has gradually become one huge citadel. The scale of construction was without exaggeration grand: in the shortest possible time, 6 full-fledged sea forts, 27 batteries, as well as countless ammunition depots grew here. By the end of the XX century, the army heritage of the Russian passed into the category of museum exhibits, so anyone can walk through the once closed military facility today.

The official history of the island as part of Russia begins with the second half of the XIX century, when it was discovered by Russian explorers. The first acquaintance of Russian sailors with the island occurred in 1858. Then Admiral E. Putyatin ordered the commander of the steamer-corvette “America” to explore the south of Primorye. In addition to the corvette "America", the expedition included the corvettes "Rynda", "Griden", "Oprichnik". The names of these corvettes were subsequently named bays and villages of the coast of Primorye. In 1859, Russia published the first map showing the western and northern shores of Russky Island. The territory of the island - 97.6 km2, length - about 18 km, width - about 15 km. Several bays enter the island, the largest of which is Novik Bay. Stretching a long narrow sleeve from northwest to southeast for more than 12 km, it divides the island into two unequal parts.

The tour tracks the period of formation and development of the island from the mid-19th century to the present, affecting of course the Neolithic period, when the first people lived on the island. The story is accompanied by a visit to the following sites.

Excursion plan:

• 09:30 – departure from the city;
• 10:00–10:25 – visiting the Novosiltsevskaya battery on the Saperny Peninsula, the kiot on the Pospelovsky coastal battery, the Russian Bridge;
• 10:30-11:00 - Fort Dmitry Donskoy on the p/o Sapperny;
• 11:10 -11:25 - Helena canal, panoramic view of the city and the small gate of the Bosphorus of the East;
• 12:00 - 13:30 - excursion to the famous Voroshilov battery, you will visit all its secret places, see the 305 caliber gun, the shell feed mechanism, visit the heart of the battery - the tower;
• 13:30-14:00 - further movement with a stop at the house of General Kornilov and Sergey Lazo, with acquaintance with the famous six-inch Cane gun, one of which can be seen today as a monument to Far Eastern artillerymen in the village of the Crew on Russky Island in Vladivostok. Such guns were on the cruisers "Aurora" and "Varyag". Cannes took part in the Russian-Japanese, First World, Civil and Great Patriotic Wars;
• 14:00–14:15 – Powder cellar No. 13 – one of the important objects of the Vladivostok fortress;
• 14:30–14:50 – visit to the Serafimov Monastery, it is possible to visit the refectory with lunch (250 rubles);
• 15:00 - continuation of the tour on the Russian island;
• 15:10 - walk through the territory of the sanatorium "White Swan" history of buildings;
• 15:40–17:00 – inspection of Fort No. 10 – fort named after Prince Oleg and battery No. 982, as well as cutting down the battery rangefinder point;
• 17:20 - Return to the city.
