The Russian Bridge
Description:
The Russian Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge in Vladivostok that connects Cape Novosilsky on Russky Island with the Nazimov Peninsula through the Vostochny Bosphorus Strait. Among the cable-stayed bridges, it has the largest span - 1104 meters, and the largest in height pylons - 324 meters. The construction of this bridge was raised twice in 1939 and 1960, but construction was not started until September 3, 2008.
The project of the Russian bridge spent 643 million rubles, worked on it for six months. The total length of the bridge is 1885.53 meters, its width is 29.5 meters. Construction work was estimated at 32.2 billion rubles. The Russian Bridge was commissioned on July 2, 2012.
The attitude towards the Russian Bridge is ambiguous. There is an opinion that the construction of a bridge with a capacity of 50 thousand cars is economically unreasonable, since only 5 thousand people live on Russky Island. On the other hand, supporters of the construction of the bridge argue that such a structure will give impetus to the further development of the island, the creation of major cultural and economic centers, it is expected that the population of the island will grow to 150 thousand.
