House-Museum of the Sukhanov Family

690090, Primorsky Krai, Vladivostok, Sukhanov str., 9

About the company:

The only museum of the tsarist official in Russia and one of the few preserved wooden mansions of the XIX century in Vladivostok. For a quarter of a century in this house lived the family of senior adviser to the Primorsky Regional Board Alexander Vasilyevich Sukhanov, who received in 1891 a valuable gift from the hands of the Tsarevich Nikolai himself - a portrait and a gold registered watch of the Bure company "for the excellent state of roads and order in the district."

The opening of the museum in 1977 is connected with the personality of one of Sukhanov’s seven children – Konstantin, a famous revolutionary, the first head of the Council of Workers’ and Soldiers’ Deputies of Vladivostok. Today, the museum shows the daily life of the family of a Russian official at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries and reveals the difficult fates of people at turning points in history using the example of the Sukhanov couple and their children.
