About the company:
The Geological and Mineralogical Museum named after Professor Alexander Ivanovich Kozlov is one of the first educational museums in the Far East of Russia. The history of the museum began in 1925, when the “Museum Cabinet” was formed on the basis of the mining department of the Technical Faculty of the Vladivostok Higher Polytechnic, where all the educational collections available at that time were placed.
In 1931, the Mining Faculty was allocated to an independent Mining Institute, and the Museum Cabinet was renamed the Geological Museum of the Far Eastern Mining Institute. As a gift, the museum was given their personal collections by professors of the department: Alexander Ivanovich Kozlov, Mikhail Alekseevich Pavlov, Ivan Alexandrovich Preobrazhensky, Pavel Pavlovich Gudkov, Nikolai Nikolaevich Pavlov, Boris Sergeyevich Dombrovskiy. The Tomsk, Leningrad and Moscow Mining Institutes took part in replenishing the museum funds, sending collections of minerals and rocks. In the future, the expositions of the museum continued to be replenished with new exhibits thanks to the expedition materials of students and teachers.
