About the company:
On the territory of the museum complex, the equipment used in the construction of the fortress is presented: trolleys, a fragment of a cable car, as well as perfectly preserved casemates.
The history of the fortress began with the creation of a small sea post in the Far East. To this end, on July 2, 1860, a landing force under the command of ensign Nikolai Vasilyevich Komarov landed in the Golden Horn Bay. A small detachment in four months built a wooden outpost, a barracks and various buildings for economic purposes. Folk rumor ascribes Komarov authorship of the name of the future city. When he finished the work, he said, “I own the east.” One way or another, twenty years later, when the fortress overgrown with residential buildings and turned into a fairly large settlement, the place was given the status of a city and the name Vladivostok. And in honor of warrant officer Komarov was named one of the streets.
