About the company:
In October 1945, at a joint meeting of the command of the Pacific Fleet and the Primorsky Krai Committee of the CPSU, it was decided to create a museum of the history of the Pacific Fleet. The initiator of the creation of the museum and its first chief was Lieutenant Colonel Sushkov Boris Alexandrovich. Under his command and with direct personal participation, a huge work was carried out to collect exhibits on the history of the Pacific Fleet. A large number of museum objects were removed from the Russian Museum in Port Arthur. As a result of scientific expeditions of museum employees to Kamchatka and the Commander Islands in 1958, the museum collection was replenished with materials on the history of the development of the Far East, and thanks to the expedition to the Kuril Islands, exhibits of the war with Japan of 1945 were received in the funds.
Replenishment of the museum collection was also due to the transfer of exhibits for temporary or permanent use from other museums and organizations. At the end of April 1950, the exposition was completed. On April 21, 1950, the commander of the Pacific Fleet, Rear Admiral Kuznetsov N. G., signed order No. 117/62 on the opening of the former Lutheran church on Pushkinskaya Street, 14 Naval Historical Museum of the Pacific Fleet, on May 9. In September 1997, the museum was transferred to the building, which is a monument of history and architecture, in which it is now located. In the period from 1998 to 2002, repair work was carried out in the building, since 2003, the design of the exposition belt began, and on May 9, 2005. The Military Historical Museum of the Pacific was again opened to visitors.
