The main place of salt mining in Russia, the development here has been conducted since the VIII century AD, salt was delivered along the Great Silk Road. Big Bogdo Mountain is a unique creation of nature not only on the Caspian lowland, but also on the entire Russian plain.
She brought to us in a fossilized state the remains of the Mesozoic era. In the cliffs of the mountain is the sea triass with fossilized remains of animals that lived 200-250 million years ago – this makes the mountain a real geological museum in the open air. Under the mountain stretches a cave labyrinth - unique karst caves.
