Belogorsk Holy Trinity Monastery
Description:
One of the many attractions of the Volgograd region is the Kamenno-Brodsky Holy Trinity Belogorsky Monastery, located in the Olkhov district, near the village of Stone Brod. Its history dates back to 1860, when the Kamenno-Brod women’s community was opened in the local area. In 1866 a church was built in its place in honor of the miraculous icon of the Mother of God. After 1928, the monastery was in an abandoned state, until it was restored in 1922. In the same year, the monastery received its former name.
On the lands of the Holy Trinity Monastery there are five Holy springs, including silver, radon and hydrogen sulfide. Not far from the monastery is the Holy Mountain, in which the monastery caves are located. In addition to the cells of the monks, here you can see an underground chapel and a large round hall with a beautiful table, chairs, as well as bowls for holy water and oil. It should be noted that on the territory of the monastery there is a natural monument - giant oaks, whose age reaches from 300 to 400 years. The main value of the monastery is the icon “Joy of All Sorrowers”.
