Alley of Heroes in Volgograd
Description:
The Alley of Heroes is located in the city center, next to the square of the Fallen Fighters and is dedicated to the participants of the Battle of Stalingrad. On the alley there are steles with the names of 127 Stalingraders, Heroes of the Soviet Union, and models of orders and medals received by the city are installed on the houses surrounding the square.
The alley was created in 1954 to commemorate the heroes who defended the city during the Battle of Stalingrad. It is decorated with monuments and surrounded by buildings, in the style of Stalinist architecture.
Recently, the Alley of Heroes was reconstructed, landscaped and decorated with green spaces. Now it is a popular place of rest and walks. On holidays, the alley is decorated with special lighting.
