Lake Buluchta

Volgograd region, Palassov district, between the Volga and Lake Elton

Description:

Bulukhta is a lesser known lake compared to nearby Baskunchak Elton lakes. This is due to the fact that the water level in Bulukhta is low, so you can not swim here as in Baskunchak, besides there is no therapeutic mud, as in Elton.

In addition, the lake is very far from asphalt roads and civilization. The nearest settlement - Katrichev - is already thirty kilometers away! Here for many kilometers it is difficult to meet any signs, asphalt and sometimes even people. Especially extreme here is the spring, when salt marshes appear on the roads to Bulukhta.

First of all, Lake Bulukhta is wild, untouched by man, nature. Looking into the infinite horizon, you will not see a single tree or any other landmark, except for endless fields and flowering tulips in the spring.

There are many steppe birds and gophers here. And if you are very lucky, then not far from the road you can see the gravestone eagle, which is listed in the Red Book.
