Ust-Medveditsk rescue-transfiguration monastery
on the territory of the Ust-Medveditsky Spaso-Transfiguration convent
Description:
In the Volgograd region there are many Orthodox sights. One of them is the Ust-Medveditsk convent. It is known for its unusual history and original architecture.
The monastery attracts tourists. Its main attraction is the Kazan temple, grotto, various sources.
There are also underground caves located on the territory. There are several versions of their appearance, one of which is the creation of their mother Arsenia as a future underground temple. But historians believe that the caves appeared much earlier, and the mother wanted only to strengthen and decorate them. They are guided tours, but you need to move carefully, no further than the allowed distance. In the distant 30th year, several people decided to completely bypass the caves, but never returned.
Also of interest is the stone slab, which preserved the prints of women's hands and knees. Many believe that the stone belongs to the Virgin and has an unearthly origin.
