The Golden Lake
Volgograd region, Russia 2.4 km Yu
Description:
The Golden Lake is located in the steppes in the eastern part of the Volgograd region near the border with Kazakhstan. The lake's second name is Elton. The reservoir has a sparkling mirror surface of oval shape, which is framed by a white salt ring. The surface of the lake remains calm even in a hurricane wind. The water here is mixed with a very heavy and saturated mineral solution. The salt concentration here is about one and a half times higher than in the Dead Sea.
The area of the reservoir is 182 square kilometers, and the depth is not great - about human growth. The rivers that flow into Elton form an amazing landscape.
Nomadic tribes from ancient times called the lake "Altyn-Nur", which translated from the Kazakh language means "Golden Lake". The name of this reservoir was due to the shade of water, which during the day varies from golden to soft pink.
The main value of the Golden Lake is its healing properties. For treatment, both silt mineral mud and salted brine are used. No wonder the water is called “rejuvenation”. Lake water has a very good effect on human metabolism and makes skin cells renew faster.
