Description: The museum was opened in 1993 in the building, which is a historical and architectural monument of republican significance. In 1918 it housed the Headquarters of the Tsaritsyn Council, since 1937 the Tsaritsyn Defense Museum named after I.V. Stalin was opened, since 1948 - the Tsaritsyn-Stalingrad Defense Museum. The new museum covers socio-political, revolutionary and military events in Tsaritsyn and the Don region in the first half of the twentieth century, shows the role and importance of Tsaritsyn during the Civil War of 1918-1920. The museum has an exhibition "Life and culture of Tsaritsyn in the early twentieth century". |
