Alekseev dawns
Description:
Have you ever heard of Alekseevsky district of Volgograd region? No way! After all, this is one of the prosperous territories, known for the strong roots of the culture of the Hoper Cossacks and rare natural monuments. This tour will introduce you to one of the exclusive corners of the Volgograd region.
First we will get acquainted with a unique phenomenon in Eastern Europe - the floating Babina Islands. Entire areas of birch forest drift along the surface of the Small Babinsky Lake, like ships. Covered with fern, some of them can withstand the weight of a person. When the wind is strong, the "ships" can be counted up to 15, because the "sails" are the leaves of birches growing vertically, as on the ground. We will take a boat trip and inspect them.
Then we are waiting for the village Alekseevskaya - one of the most comfortable Cossack villages of the Volgograd region. There we will have lunch, get acquainted with the Tree of Hope, the Retro recreation area, the alpinarium, the sculptural ensemble "Let us remember, brothers, about the past ...", the monument to Peter I, the monument to the Mother. Special attention will be paid to a visit to the local Museum of Local Lore, where you will be told about the connection of Cossack culture with Tatar-Mongol traditions.
After spending the night on the banks of the majestic Hoper River - one of the cleanest European rivers - we will go to the village of Zotovskaya, where we will be able to see the Church of the Sign of the Mother of God, as well as the house of the famous surgeon of the Russian Empire F.I. Protopopov. If you arrive in June, you can pick strawberries in the surrounding hills!
Your tour can be organized with comfortable accommodation at the campground or camping option - with an overnight stay in tents that your guide will gladly provide you!
Exemplary tour programme:
Day 1
08:00 - Departure from Volgograd.
13:30 - Inspection of the floating Babin Islands by boat.
16:00 - Lunch in the village Alekseevskaya.
17:00 - 19:00 - Sightseeing tour of the village of Alekseevskaya (Tree of Hope, recreation area "Retro", alpinarium, sculptural ensemble "Remember, brothers, about the past ...", monument to Peter I, monument to the Mother). Visit to the Local History Museum.
20:00 - Arrival at the place of overnight stay on the bank of the Hoper River (turbobase or tent). Rest.
Day 2
09:00 - Departure from the place of overnight stay.
10:00 - 11:30 - Visit the village of Zotovskaya, inspection of the Znamenskaya Church, the house of the doctor Protopopov. It is possible to collect strawberries in June.
18:00 - 19:00 - Approximate arrival in Volgograd.
