One-day tour to Baskunchak salt lake and Bogdinsko-Baskunchak reserve

The ecological excursion route - Lake Baskunchak and Mount Bolshaya Bogdo - will leave you with many positive impressions! These places are known for their steppe landscapes and natural unusual beauties.

You will see the steppe village of Nizhny Baskunchak, historically known as the settlement of salt miners. Salt is extracted on the lake and railway tracks are laid directly on it. You can walk and see salt snowflakes and "dunes" among brine - a strong salt solution up to 300 g / l. Then there is a part of the excursion on the territory of the Bogdinsko-Baskunchak Reserve, namely on the tourist trail "Legends of the Holy Mountain" along the stunning natural beauty of the slopes of the Bolshaya Bogdo mountain, where the exits to the surface of the sediments of the ancient seas of the Triassic period (250 - 200 million years ago) form striking forms of weathering and landscapes reminiscent of Martian. Views of dozens of kilometers around open from observation decks, and relict plants grow on the slopes of the mountain. At the request of the customer, the rented UAZ will take to the salt beach of Lake Baskunchak or mud springs.

On the way we will pass the village of Tsarev - the place of the second capital of the Golden Horde city of Sarai al-Jedid (New Saray).
