Description:

The Archedinsko-Don sands are a huge sandy massif of the Volgograd region, it was formed in the Don valley as a result of the accumulating activity of preglacial water flows. The Don glacier was located less than a hundred kilometers north-west of this territory. The water flows that accompanied the melting of the glacier formed sand deposits.

In the modern era, the sands have been outweighed and formed a bumpy-barchan relief, complicated by various, small forms of blowing. All these Aeolian forms have a preferential extension from northeast to southwest, i.e., transverse to the prevailing northwest summer and southeast winter winds. The spreading of sands continues here even now. This is facilitated by the dry steppe climate.

The museum of Cossack life is a Cossack Kon estate. XIX - early XX centuries, which reflected elements of the traditional material culture of the Don Cossacks: chicken, summer kitchen, outbuildings that perfectly fit into the landscape of the area. The original exhibits collected in the exposition recreate the life of the Cossacks of pre-revolutionary times.

The Pochaev spring was discovered in the fern ravine only in 2009, a spring that was densely overgrown with trees. Plenty of pounding from the sandy slope, the key water does not dry up even in dry periods. It was consecrated by Metropolitan Herman in the name of the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God. Later, the spring was cleared, sandy mountains were strengthened, baths, bridges and stairs were built. Near the holy spring was erected a beautiful chapel with openwork decor. In 2012, thanks to the assistance of Father Fedor, a temple was erected on the holy spring.

Water from this holy spring cures parishioners of various diseases, tones the body and relieves fatigue. There are cases when miraculous water healed people from boils, blindness and other diseases, even when they were in a dying state.
