Vologda

Literary bypass

Description:

Interesting walking tour of literary places. Is our city good when viewed through the eyes of writers and poets? Why does Shalamov not have one Vologda, but four? Where did the heroes of Tolstoy and Gogol live? How did Berdyaev cease to be a Marxist in Vologda exile and become a mystic? Where did the monument to Mayakovsky come from and did he not marry here? Why did Simonov drink vodka in our city and Batyushkov drink wine? We will walk through the streets, learn about outstanding writers, their passions and fates, play “Vologda talks”, and also visit the literary museum and its pastoral backyards.
