Children's Park
Russia, Vologda, Nizhny Posad.
Description:
Children's Park in the city of Vologda was laid out in the early XX century on the site of Spasskaya Square. It is located between Soviet Avenue, Pushkinskaya, Lermontov and Predtechenskaya streets. Through Pushkinskaya it comes into contact with the Revolution Square.
Before the revolution, it was called Pushkin Kindergarten, because it was founded as a park with playgrounds. And the garden itself was founded in 1898 in Nizhny Posad. In 1899, to the 100th anniversary of the birth of A.S. Pushkin, the garden was named "Park named after Alexander Pushkin". In 1926, the park was renamed Children's Park. Children's attractions were subsequently located here.
Currently, on the territory of the Children's Park there are the Church of John the Baptist in Roshchenye, erected in 1710, and the so-called "small" monument to V. I. Lenin.
