VRZ Park in Vologda

Vologda, Vologda region, Russia

Description:

VRZ Park acquired its not very sound name in the late 1920s, when the Bishops' Garden became a place of culture and recreation of the VRVRZ plant. Its history begins with the XVIII century, when a garden was laid on the place where the defensive fortifications of Ivan the Terrible were previously located. Five centuries later, the remains of these fortifications can be seen in the embankment, on which now stands a gazebo, made in the form of a cascade of two ponds. These relief changes are very rare for Vologda, so make this place very exquisite and picturesque.

The park is located in close proximity to the cultural center of the city – the Bishops’ Court is located nearby, as well as the main Vologda museums and galleries. Therefore, VRZ Park is the most suitable place for an unforgettable holiday with the family: after visiting city attractions and exhibitions, you can relax on a bench in the shade of broad-leaved trees. For the youngest there are a variety of attractions and a playground. By the City Day in the park VRZ there will be new smooth paths, beautiful fountains and clean ponds with live fish.
