Monument to A. S. Pushkin
Description:
The monument to A. S. Pushkin was first erected in Vologda in front of the People’s House in 1904. The monument is not preserved, the sculptor is unknown. The destroyed bust was replaced (in the 30s) by a bust of mass production (sculptor V. N. Domogatsky). In 1985, the monument was restored, installed in Pushkin Square. Since 1986, annually on June 6, the Vologda Society of Book Lovers celebrates the birthday of A. S. Pushkin at the monument in Pushkin Square.
