The Endowment in Bratkovo
Description:
Manor house in Bratkovo village of Sheksninsky district of Vologda region. This is well inscribed in the landscape quite a large pseudo-Gothic building. Watchtowers with loopholes, small turrets on the edges with jagged finishes indicate the desire of an unknown architect to simulate the castle. The estate was built around the middle of the 18th century under Lieutenant Colonel Stepan Grigoryevich Berdyaev. Under Berdyaev, the construction of the Yeldan Church in Bratkovo will be completed. Then the estate was transferred to the landowners Kandalitsev, and later to the nobles Endogurov, who were later written by the Endourovs. Under the Endourovs, cheese and butter production was established in the Bratkovo estate.
